9 Things That We Wash Too Often, and 9 More That We Usually Forget About

8. Duvet vs. pillow

Hair and skin oils and dirt get into pillows, which can lead to the growth of fungus. Allergies in humans are brought on by dust mites, which are drawn to a filler that hasn't been cleaned in years. Cleaning pillows once every three months will suffice if you use bed ticks. Bedticks themselves should also be cleaned once a month.Only one cleaning should be done on duvets every six months. They don't become as soiled as pillows do.

9. Curtains vs. Tulle

If vacuumed frequently, thick drapes that hang at the sides of windows should be cleaned once a year. By doing this, they keep other germs from gathering on them, including dust mites. The tulle hangs in the centre, collecting dust and debris that enters the house through open windows. It should therefore be cleaned at least once every six months. Even more frequently, the kitchen drapes should be cleaned.
